AP EAMCET stands for Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test. It is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).
The AP EAMCET is conducted annually for admission into various undergraduate professional courses, including engineering, agriculture, and medical courses, offered by the universities and colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The exam is usually conducted in the month of April, and the application process begins in February.
The AP EAMCET exam is a computer-based test, consisting of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The exam is conducted in two sessions: the morning session is for engineering courses, and the afternoon session is for agriculture and medical courses. The exam syllabus is based on the curriculum of the intermediate or 10+2 level of education in Andhra Pradesh.
To be eligible for the AP EAMCET, candidates must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for reserved category candidates). Candidates must also be Indian nationals or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
Based on their performance in the AP EAMCET exam, candidates are ranked and allocated seats in various engineering, agriculture, and medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The counseling process for seat allocation usually begins in June or July.
