Sharad Pawar is a prominent Indian politician who has held several important positions in the Indian government. He was born on December 12, 1940, in Maharashtra, India.

Pawar started his political career in the early 1960s when he joined the Indian National Congress. He quickly rose through the ranks of the party and became the youngest chief minister of Maharashtra in 1978 at the age of 38. He served as the chief minister of Maharashtra three times, from 1978 to 1980, from 1988 to 1991, and from 1993 to 1995.

In 1999, Sharad Pawar left the Congress Party and formed the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Since then, he has been the president of the NCP and has played a significant role in Indian politics.

Sharad Pawar has also served as the Minister of Defence, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industries in the Indian government. He has been a member of the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha, the upper and lower houses of the Indian parliament, respectively.
